Self Massage Exercise to Loosen your Abductors Hi. This is Eric Cressey with competitor.com and this is your Monday Minute. This week we’re going to be talking about a great self self-mild fascial release exercise that we can use on our abductors, our inner thighs. These are incredibly important muscles that often get overlooked either hip and lower back or knee dysfunction. So what we’re going to do with this exercise is actually position ourselves straddling on exercise or stretching table and use this — to clean the tissue quality on the inside of our thighs. So when we setup on a table, what we’re going to do is want to bring our right leg up on top and set up the rote just superior or above our knee. I want to work all the way up towards our groin, okay? Obviously we're doing the other side as well. Spend about 15-20 seconds on each side and I recommend that you follow this drill up with some kind of exercise that works on flexibility of your abductors. Once we’ve worked on that tissue, we want to make sure that we teach it how to move the right way. So give this exercise a try, a soft tissue were prior to immobility warm ups and that you can find some instant improvements in the way that your hip and your knee and your lower back functions. This is a huge issue that we see not only runners but also in soccer players, hockey players and almost any athlete you'll come across so I really encourage you not to try this out of your line or if you’re another kind of athlete as well.
