Scoliosis Explained Dr. Jim Sears: Why don’t you kind of show us, I think we have a cool animation that kind of describes us scoliosis? Female: Yes. What we can see here Caitlyn, this is typically about her age and when she bends forward, you can see that the spine kind of curves over and deviates to one side. Dr. Jim Sears: Now you actually have some X-rays Caitlyn, right? Female: Yeah, we have some X-rays of Caitlyn if we could pull those on up, it’d be fantastic. Those are Caitlyn X-rays and as you can see the bottom part is more towards the lower part of her rib cage, and then those are the vertebrate going on that so we can see a little deviation that she has there in a normal X-ray because we have a comparison of a normal and a scoliosis. We can see that it should normally be nice and straight.
