There has been a lot of mixed research about the effectiveness of multivitamins but Prevention expert Andrew Weil recommends taking one every day. Just be sure that your mix of supplements contains the right balance of essential nutrients. Here are the vitamins and minerals that you should aim to get everyday. Most women need about 200 mg of vitamin C, 400 IU of vitamin E, 15,000 IU of mixed carotenoids, 200 mcg of Selenium, 400mcg of folic acid and other B vitamins. Make sure that it doesn’t contain iron.
