Reversing Facial Marionette Lines Jim: Here’s a good one. This is on Facebook. This is Erica Thompson writing. She asks when my faces at rest, my lips go down at the corners. Is there a procedure to fix that? And it sounds a question, like a questions for Dr. Ordon there. Dr. Ordon: Now, Jim that such a great question. I get in the office all the time. What would help me is if I had prop out here, a little ahead to show people how would take care of that. Nobody likes that sneer look. You know, number one. What is cause? Well, it’s combination of gravity things falling a little bit and loosing volume in the face. How do I fix it? Well, typically it’s combination of two things. Thank you. Well, that’s what I called good service. So, you know, so called sneer or merry in that line, I see it all the time in the office. It’s when the corner of your mouth is down turn in here, it gives a sneering look to your face. It’s caused by two things; gravity, just gravity pulling down like so and as we age we also loose volume in the face. It’s a combination of gravity and volume. Dr. Shears: But if you keep smiling all the time. Dr. Ordon: Well, it’s a¿this isn’t as much as smiling as crows feet. Dr. Shears: Okay. Dr. Ordon: This is more gravity and volume. So how do we fix it? Well, number one we want to add volume to the corner of the mouth here that so called merry in that line with fillers typically hyaluronic acid and we do a little maneuver where we weave that hyaluronic acid right along the corner of the mouth and that will actually lift that mouth up a little bit. Finally, a little touch of buttocks right here, it will actually bring that lip up. So the solution typically two folds of fillers and some buttocks. Dr. Shears: With some fillers and buttocks. Jim: Which is fairly quick in the office procedure? Dr. Ordon: Yes. Because your face, what really isn’t going to help that spot. The face lift will help erase the wavy line, it will help you in the cheek, the jaw, with the botox stops right here, it’s not going to pull up the corner of the mouth. Dr. Shears: Thank you. Jim: Thank you Dr. Ordon. And Dr. Shears for sharing those great questions with us.
