Gwendolyn Francavillo: Hi, I am Gwendolyn Francavillo, Health and Wellness Coordinator at Gallaudet University. Now we are going to be talking about alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Host: How many alcoholic drinks are considered safe for me to drink responsibly? Gwendolyn Francavillo: The legal age to drink is age 21, but if you were to have a drink, there are different equivalents for different types of alcohol. Twelve ounces of beer is equivalent to five ounces of wine, as well as one ounce of hard liquor. So if you were to have a drink you would only want to have one of these in one to two hours and try to balance it out with water as well, so that your body is able to metabolize the alcohol and really function at a healthy way.
