Relaxing Boat and Energy Boosting Boat Yoga Poses A lot of yoga poses are going to work your abs but none like boat pose. To get started, take a seat on your yoga mat and then rock back so you are slightly off balance. Lift your legs up to at a table top position and then squeeze them together so your core starts to work then lift your hands. Palms are going to be face up and keep your gaze over your toes. This is the basic boat position. To make it more energizing and a bit more challenging, just straighten the legs. That is going to cause your core to kick in even more. Or if you're in the more relaxing mood, just keep you toes on the ground. You can do both with the toes on the ground. Simply bring your hands to the front of your chins. Brawn back slightly and hold this pose. Which ever boat variation you'll decide to do, aim to hold it for about 60 seconds.
