Nessa Wrafter: I am here with Julien from The Treatment Rooms. He is going to tell me about a LaStone Therapy and the benefits. Julien Tessier: It comes from America from a lady called Mary Nelson and it was actually invented all put together in 1993. It rooted into the American native traditions and beliefs. And it's really lovely treatments, really relaxing and nurturing. Nessa Wrafter: Talk me through, what are you actually going to do during the treatment? Julien Tessier: Okay, well we're going to start the treatment, I'm going to start by washing your feet to install a contact with you and then I'll ask you to get on the couch and then I'll start doing a few stretches and then what I'll do, is I'll ask you sit up and start doing what we call a Spinal Layout, which is lying some stones around your spine, or where your spine is going to laying out and then I'll ask you to layback and what I'll do is, I'll do a placement of stone on your abdomen and then I'll start to massage the front of your legs. After that I'll ask you to turn around and do a little placement as well again onto your back as well as on your front and I'll message the back of your legs and then finish up by your back. Nessa Wrafter: What kind of stones do you use during the treatment? Julien Tessier: I use two kinds of stones. One kind of stone is made of basalt, which is a volcanic stone. The reason behind is because the volcanic stone hold the heat very well so they are going to stay hot very long and the other type of stone is marble stone, and the reason behind is because they keep the cold, they keep chilled, they stay chill for a very long time. So I alternate between these two stones is to create a nice gymnastic on the body because it stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage and all that kinds of things. Nessa Wrafter: What affects do you see after the treatment, what are the benefits? Julien Wrafter: Well the benefits are, it's a very relaxing treatment, very nurturing, very grounding, so people would feel extremely relaxed after that. I wouldn't advice to do anything after the treatment. Just take a good day off because you're going to be pretty spaced up and yeah, it is ideal for people who are stressed out especially for brides, I would imagine the brides are pretty stressed out people. Nessa Wrafter: Where is this treatment available? Julien Wrafter: It's available all across the UK. Now the LaStone is a very specific tailored treatment, that's only provided by LaStone people. So look for people who are actually certified LaStone practitioner and it's about a 100 and a 105 pound. The treatment lasts for about an hour and 15 minutes to up to an hour and a half. Nessa Wrafter: How many treatments would you recommend that a bride might get before her wedding to get that full effects? Julien Wrafter: Well, I would recommend it maybe a treatment for a week, maybe start a month before your wedding day, so a course of maybe 4 to 5 treatments, one each week, one every week would be good to get rid of stress, yeah.
