Trying to raise your good cholesterol levels one surprising way is to eat fat. Just make sure it's the right kind. Foods rich in saturated fats like canola oil, olive oil and nuts can improve good HDL levels. With out increasing the level of bad cholesterol in your blood stream, and make free fatty acids which are found in fish such as salmon and mackerel can also give your HDL a boost. Good too for alcohol but remember moderation is key meaning no more than one drink a day for women and two for man. But don't over do it because chocolate is high in calories, and getting too many calories can lead to weight gain which lowers good cholesterol.
