Psychological Issues You Could Face Following Extreme Weight Loss Hello, my name is Dr. Stanczyk, Malgorzata Stanczyk. I work at the Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity in Tri-City Regional Medical Center in Hawaiian Gardens, Los Angeles, California. I work with Dr. Fobi, one of the fathers of bariatric surgery. I have been involved with bariatric surgery and bariatrics for more than eight years when I started to do research on bariatric surgery, which was very unique at that time. I have worked with Dr. Fobi for more than six years looking at weight loss and advantages of bariatric surgery for our patients. For the last year I worked with Dr. Fobi as a surgeon under his unique guidance. For most of them problem what we hear from the women is that they have this excess skin which they perceive like being in somebody else’s skin or body. If you can imagine, wearing a suit which is 3 numbers too big for you and you feel like this is not what you really want, not what you really are. These women, after losing weight, patients after losing weight, they starting to see themselves like they really are, and many times they need this additional touch in order to feel fully happy.
