Hi everybody! I am Melanie Raposo, and welcome to Mommy's Minute. A diaphragm is a shallow cup shaped like a dome that has a flexible rim. It fits into the vagina and covers the opening to the cervix. A diaphragm has to be used with spermicide and is about 84-94% effective. However, you can't use it while on your period. Lastly, diaphragms come in different sizes, so you will need to see your doctor to be fitted for one. To learn more about different types of contraceptives visit thepregnancyshow.com.
