How large a problem is obesity in children in the United States? Dr. Thaddeus Bell: Obesity is a major problem in children in those countries. In fact, we are— medical profession is predicting that because of obesity in children the common abilities that we see associated with obesity that we have seen in elderly people. We are now going to see in children who are now 25, 30, 40 years of age early. So, it is a major, major medical problem particularly among African Americans and Spanish and some white patients this is a major medical problem.
