Pregnancy Complications Leading to Premature Delivery - Catrina's Story My pregnancies have always been pretty easy. I really haven’t had a whole lot of complications. Towards the end of my pregnancy with Tanner, I developed high blood pressure and my doctor was very concerned that I was going to have a stroke, which could lead to me ultimately dying and Tanner and so we decided the best thing to do was to take him early by c-section and unfortunately he was just a little too early and wasn’t breathing on his own and that’s what led us to Banner Thunderbird to provide him the neonatal care that he needed. I am extremely lucky. I mean, even though they didn’t consider him too-too sick, to not be able to breathe on your own is kind of serious, but I really do, I really do consider myself lucky and I do know that that does have something to do with the care that he received there. I mean, I would be kidding myself to think that it didn’t have anything to do with them. They were just nurses and doing their job. They do so much more than their job.
