Hi, everybody! I am Melanie Raposo and welcome to Mommy's Minute. If you are a pet owner, you may have noticed your dog acting a bit strange since you got pregnant. Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and because of the variations in hormones and pheromones in pregnant women, your dog will be able to sense that you are pregnant even before you take that first pregnancy test. Now, just, how your dog will react to the pregnancy will vary according to your pet. Some dogs may become clingy or overprotective. On the other hand, some dogs may react badly to your pregnancy, becoming stressed and exhibiting anxiety. If your dog's behavior gets out of control, make an appointment with your vet immediately.
