Jennifer Mathews: When Tricia Smith and Mimi Peake exercise these days they have less to work on, thank to Liposuction. Tricia Smith: You'd never know that I had a surgery. Jennifer Mathews: Tricia says with the procedure she had she felt good enough to exercise the next day. Doctor William Coleman uses a procedure called Power Liposuction, a thin stainless steel rod pulsates through fat tissue at a rate of 3000 movements a minute. William P. Coleman: So it doesn't take any effort at all for me to push this through the tissue. Jennifer Mathews: Doctor Coleman considers the technique of vast improvement over the old way. William P. Coleman: And it packs away the fat so it's getting the fat out much more easily. So it isn't this field though I have got scrape and pull to get fat out. The instrument is actually removing it for me. Jennifer Mathews: The instrument targets a three millimeter area of fat quickly and precisely, while the patient is under the local anesthesia. Vita Celantano: I was expecting it to be little bit more uncomfortable, but it's not, it really isn't. Jennifer Mathews: Doctor Coleman says the procedure takes less time and has longer term benefits for the patient. William P. Coleman: The main benefit for the patient was less bruising, less bleeding and a faster recovery. Jennifer Mathews: It took Mimi no time to get back on her feet. Mimi Peake: This procedure is so easy that you can go about your business the next day, and not even know that you have had this procedure.
