Jennifer DiDonato: Hello! Welcome to MadeFitTV, I am your host Jennifer DiDonato and this is episode number 31 and as you can see we are not in the gym but I will get to that in just a moment, but just in case you didn't know MadeFitTV is everyone's source for health and fitness information and entertainment. So thanks so much for joining us and today, like I said, we are not in the gym at my house today. We are at someone's house because we are going to touch on a certain type of way to get in shape and get fit. It's the new year and so a lot of people are looking for different alternative to incorporate health and fitness in their life. You have to be fit, you are starting to see the strip cardio videos. So this is a little similar because today guys and gals we are going to be learning about Pole Dance fitness. Take a look. Come on we have got it all for the guys and the girls and today we are talking with Patricia Pelto and she is the owner of Pole Dance Factory, Patricia come on up here. So when was that -- Patricia Pelto: Oh! Yeah. I am doing well. Jennifer DiDonato: Thanks so much for letting us kind of invade your home with the pole and kind of check out your stuff. Now we are in Westland which is a suburb in Metro Detroit, so its right around where we are located, but with pole dancing it's kind of a big craze for the ladies, actually right? Patrica Pelto: Oh! Most definitely, most definitely. We initially brought it here approximately three and a half, four years ago and it's just taken storm, everything from Bachelor parties to the classes to just because to weight loss and toning. Jennifer DiDonato: Well, you are working on a DVD right now, and like I said, you are checking out PoleDanceFactory.com, but with the pole dancing and learning those different techniques, I mean, is there something that also their spouses can get into, and kind of wanting them to, okay go out with your friends, learn it. Patrica Pelto: Oh! Most definitely. The gentlemen nowadays with your clubs per se to have their own wife take an interest in this and just losing up and realized that all of us, every women in the world has that inner goddess within her. Jennifer DiDonato: Yeah, yeah and you have never been a professional Pole Dancer. Patrica Pelto: Never, never in my life. Jennifer DiDonato: So you just kind of learned it, kind of studied it. Patrica Pelto: Just picked it up, studied, evaluated and over the years finally devised a system with the pole, with the basic moves emphasizing on a total body workout. Jennifer DiDonato: Oh! Great, good. And you don't have to be a certain size, right, to be on this. Patrica Pelto: No, I have had ladies on the pole from 70 pounds all the way up to, well that exceed 300 pounds and I find that even my larger ladies look fantastic on the pole after just learning the first three totally basic moves. Jennifer DiDonato: And this looks that this is all about it. It's for everyone, this is what we want to do, is make fitness convenient and fun for everybody. So let's get started. Patrica Pelto: Sure. The first move we teach the lady is the basic walk. We are just going to walk the pole. So you are going to take, you are going to walk, you are going to add those hip rolls, force upon the toes really helps define the calf muscles, the other hand you could draw those lines, play with that hair, let your own personality shine through and have fun with it. Would you like to give that a try? Jennifer DiDonato: Yeah, I will try, I hope, I mean, that looks good too. Patrica Pelto: Oh! you look great. And if you have trouble finding those hips, do more of the angulate moving. Jennifer DiDonato: Oh! That's right, that's right, just angulate. Patrica Pelto: And have fun, smile, draw those lines. Jennifer DiDonato: So now why is this important in terms of walking the pole, it is just of warming the crowd up or -- Patrica Pelto: Walking the pole warms you up, helps the ladies release that little bit of intimida
