Picking the Right Sneaker for You Audra Lowe: You know finding the perfect pair of sneakers for any sport isn't always easy. So Fitness Magazine asked their reader to sweat test 71 pair of the best sneakers for the fall. Here are the results, my girl deputy editor of the magazine Mary Anderson. And Mary, I know that you guys or you guys are constantly testing the shoes that — right? Mary Anderson: Absolutely every season. Audra Lowe: So these are the fall releases, right? Mary Anderson: Right, that’s lately. Audra Lowe: The first set of shoes that we have over here is a $110.00 — about a $110 for the people that have a high arch — Mary Anderson: Right. These are going to be cautioning neutral category which means that you have high arches, this is the running shoe for you. They’re light, made — really fast. Audra Lowe: That’s good. I have a high arches. It’s very uncomfortable when you buy the wrong shoe. Mary Anderson: This shoe is for you. Audra Lowe: That’s right. Okay, moving on — will you need extra stability, right? Mary Anderson: Extra stability. This is the opposite, if you have flat arches. Basically flat feet that turn in, you’re going to need the extra stability. This is the Mizuno Wave Alchemy10. It won on this category. Reader said that made them feel super stable on the trails and on the streets. Audra Lowe: That’s great! Also about $110.00 for this shoe, right? Mary Anderson: Right, $110.00 Audra Lowe: A little bit more, but if you need more stability. This was they’re pick, why is that? Mary Anderson: Right. So this is where most runners fall into. If you’re not high arches, flat arches, most runners prone it a little bit. New Balance 1226 won in this category. Readers love that — it was even light weight for what it did. Audra Lowe: Interesting. It looks like it’s light weight, too. Very, very light weight. I like that. Now you’re going on the trail, you’re going hiking — you got a $105.00 to spend. Mary Anderson: Right, exactly. Well this is a trail running shoe. We’re going to have a hiking category, if you’re hiking up here but you could hike in this. These are Brooks. And they always seem to win this trail running category. Readers love the grip. You’re going to see the scrape sort of grippy sole here, that’s what you need on the trails. Also, super light and — Audra Lowe: And something on the shoes is biodegradable I read. Is that true? Mary Anderson: Yeah, a part of that. It has this great biodegradable sole, mid soles so that’s left on the environment like when we recycled the stuff. So it’s really — actually, a great eco story. Audra Lowe: A conscious shoe. Now we will talk a little bit about hiking earlier, but if you really do in the— Mary Anderson: Here’s some great day, hiker’s there from Vasque call the opportunist — Audra Lowe: They said that they were very comfortable, right? Mary Anderson: Absolutely. Readers love them. Audra Lowe: The last shoe — I like the way this shoe looks. Mary Anderson: I know, right? Audra Lowe: Are these just for everyday comfort? Mary Anderson: These are the toning shoe category. I'm sure you’ve seen that it’s exploded lately. You’ve seen all those commercials. We had our readers test to top toning shoes and this is the Reebok Grace toning shoe. You can see that it gone in the direction of like daywear. Where you're going to wear this?
