Hi, my name is Carrie. I’m a violin teacher and a singer and I live in New York City and I just had a baby five weeks ago. I’m going to talk about nursery room essentials. Before I had the baby, I found it very difficult to setup the room because I didn’t know if I was having a boy or a girl and I have different things in mind for either sex. And the things that thought we’re definite to have in the nursery room are a crib, a changing table, a rocking chair, a book shelf or a book case, and we also have a diaper genie or hamper which are definitely necessary and a garbage can. It does not have to big, just pretty small. We put in a daybed, so that if I’m nursing in the middle of the night or if we have guests over, I just having extra place to sleep. It’s also an extra place where you could change the baby or play with the baby or lay down and there is just more room. So, the changing tables can be sort of small. There are a lot of things that are out there that are necessary, and then there are a lot of things that are out there that are not necessary and you have to sort of decide for yourself what you need and what just looks nice or if you can afford different things, the nursery is yours. So, once again the things that are essential for a nursery are a crib, a changing table with a dresser for clothes, a bookshelf for toys and books, a diaper pail, a hamper and a rocking chair.
