Host: Is there anything parents have to do if they choose not to send their child to preschool? Rene Hackney: Actually, there is nothing that parents have to do. There isn't any recommendation or any requirements before children enter kindergarten. There are many children who are not involved in any type of structured program before entering kindergarten. Now, that s sad, there are lots of programs available. There are classes like Gymbarie or Music Together where children can go and get some exposure to musical instruments or to movement to following directions to listening to the teacher. So, it is nice to get them involved in some of those other programs, but it is not a requirement at all.
