Kendra Densmore: People often walk by and ask, where is the snow and although -- are not necessarily cross training for cross country scheme, it can be a great tool for that, that actually how it began in Europe many, many years ago. People benefit from Nordic walking in different ways, some like the stability aspect, they feel a greater sense of stability when they're walking, and others like the fact that their workout is dispersed through their whole body, and less joint impact and others enjoy the speed factor. Nordic walking can help them walk a little bit faster enhancing their workout; the poles actually help propel you forward. The reason I like Nordic walking the most is the rhythmic aspect, it's almost meditating. The perceived exertion is less, I don't feel like I'm working is hard and therefore I could just walk forever.
