New Treatment Freezes Fat Dr. Travis Stork: Have you tried every exercise and ab routine but you’re still bothered by the pooch or love handles like some people have actually called it? Listen up because Doctor Ordon is in our procedure room with a fat fix that everyone has been waiting for. Dr. Drew Ordon: You got it, Doctor Travis. We’re here with Doctor Ablon and her patient, Suzie who was nice enough to let us freeze some fat, right? Suzie: Right. Dr. Drew Ordon: And we’re actually doing this procedure that we introduced at the beginning of the show, new improved technique, non-surgical and you’re doing it right here. So, your little hand piece is sucking out the skin and then actually freezing it. Dr. Glynis Ablon: Correct, this is cool sculpt. Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay. Dr. Glynis Ablon: And so, what we’re doing is we’re putting a gel pad that protects the surface of the skin. Then when you suction to actually bring out the skin with the fat, freeze the fat and then it dissolves. Dr. Drew Ordon: You know it’s such a good point because really cold can damage the skin just like too hot. Dr. Glynis Ablon: Right. Dr. Drew Ordon: So, you need to protect the skin. Dr. Glynis Ablon: Exactly. Dr. Drew Ordon: Not liposuction though. Dr. Glynis Ablon: No, this is typically two sessions about two months apart, the fat is dissolved gradually, so it’s non-instantaneous thing. But no cutting, no surgery. It’s great for minor pockets. Dr. Drew Ordon: How does it feel? Suzie: Honestly, it doesn’t hurt or anything and it feels like a massage. Dr. Drew Ordon: It looks like she has a little tentacle there attached to her stomach. Now, this will come off, right? Dr. Glynis Ablon: Yes, we will release it and then she’s ready to go. She can go to the gym tonight if she wanted to. Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay and typically, about how long for one of these treatments? Dr. Glynis Ablon: Typically, it’s per plate, so each plate is one hour. Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay. Dr. Glynis Ablon: So, Suzie can be two hours today and the idea is that someone that’s got a small pocket of fat, it works great. Dr. Drew Ordon: This is new stuff. So, let’s see the way Suzie looked before she started just one treatment. There she is, little muffin top, I can say that, right? Suzie: You can. Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay. Now, let’s see how Suzie looks now just after one treatment. And again, a few points here, this is not classical liposuction; no incisions, no surgery, no anesthesia. Dr. Glynis Ablon: We have a video library and they’re watching a video. Dr. Drew Ordon: All right, so let’s take a look at some pictures of what you can expect after a couple more treatments. The first is another who underwent the treatment. Dr. Glynis Ablon: This is two sessions. Again typically two sessions, about two months apart and so, this is two months after the second session on the right. Dr. Drew Ordon: I mean, you can -- it’s all like what you can remove—but you can definitely see the difference. Dr. Glynis Ablon: Exactly. Dr. Drew Ordon: And I think we have one more before and after, this one in a male. Dr. Glynis Ablon: Correct and you can see that again, there’s less of a belly there and this is great for women that have had C-sections where the skin is hanging over or someone that have love handles, it works really nice. Dr. Drew Ordon: What’s next? Well, we’re talking about melting the fat with heat, now we can freeze them off with cold. Good stuff.
