Natural Medicine and HPV When I talk to patients who have just been recently diagnosed with HPV, I reassure them that healthy women can clear an HPV infection in two to three years. If in those two to three years they have had an abnormal PAP, they can also be assured that once that infection is cleared, so is any abnormality that the HPV has caused. If they want to be proactive in clearing that HPV infection, there are several things that they can do to facilitate that process. Again, green tea, research has shown that it is very effective in clearing HPV infections, either used topically for genital warts or used internally for the HPV strains that caused abnormal PAPs. Again, focusing on the component of green tea called ECGC. You can get that as a supplement that has had the ECG concentrated. Other ways to facilitate the process is again by stimulating the immune system, high doses of vitamin C, so taking vitamin C in three to six grams per day, taking vitamin A and preferably beta carotene or the natural form of vitamin A. It has less toxicity associated with it, so you can take higher doses over longer periods of time. So, you are looking at about 150,000 IUs of beta carotene a day for three months and then retest or retest at your PAP.
