Melanie Raposo: Hi everybody! I'm Melanie Raposo and welcome to The Pregnancy Show. The cost of having a baby these days is very expensive. So one of the first thing you need to think about before having a baby is, are you financially ready? Well, today we're breaking down the cost for you and a financial expert gives us great advice on how to budget before the baby comes. Now what about some expenses that parent should be prepared for, that are going to areas in their budget that are going to increase? Laurie Campbell: Absolutely! Well, there is certain areas in your budget that you think about well let's get that lovely crib and the car seat and all those extra paraphernalia items that you needed for your babies but also diapers are extremely costly over, if you look at a monthly cost of diapers, very, very costly. Another thing is certainly if you are not going to nourish your baby, formula can be very expensive. People can run into hundreds of dollars a month just in formula cost. So those two things hit right off the mark once you have a baby. This cost obviously associated with clothing and cost of making sure that you are providing the right items for children. But the big cost are really -- making sure that you have the diapers, the formula cover, the long term issues such as daycare and those are the costs that are associated with it. The hard part is that, that people usually doing this on a reduce budget.
