So when I meet a new patient I usually take extra time to try to speak to them and give them an opportunity to ask their questions and anticipating a lot of their questions to talk about the topics about minimally invasive spine surgery such as need for further testing and the ability to be able to treat them without having to use the big old fashion operations. This patients then usually—if they haven’t been I would always recommended an aggressive treatment of non-surgical treatment before we can admit them at the surgery because surgery is not the last idea but you want to try some other things first.
