What Kind of Advice Do You Give to a Spouse or a Partner to Help Alleviate The Pain? There are a lot of things that a partner can do, the first thing is to be sympathetic and to respect your wife or partner, girl friend, whoever it may be when she tells you that she is having a migraine. Don’t push her to get over it. Don’t tell her it’s all in her head. Make the room as quiet as you can. Do whatever you can do relieve the stress on her and try to respect her through it. It is very hard to watch somebody have a migraine headache and often times, patient will just look awful and you just have to understand that it is a process that it is episodic; she is going to get better but you have to do everything you can to help her and one thing you might want to do is talk to her when she does not have a migraine and ask what are the most helpful things.
