Hi, this is Beatrix, and today we’re going to be talking about making a family tree. So there’s lot of different ways you can do that. With the internet and all the different sites on family trees, those are great resources. So, go to your computer and look up family trees and you can find a host of different ways to do it online. Another way is that you sit down with your family and it is a nice wonderful family activity and you learn about what all the information that your parents or grandparents, aunts and uncles know. And collect all that information, some people like to do tape recordings or video recordings of that so they have it, but one way is to just write it down, and from that information, then piece together sort of the basic information that you have. Another way is looking up records of your family and if they immigrated to this country, then there are ways that you can look in their immigration records, their organizations that particularly deal with immigrants coming to the country, and you can also find those online and you can contact them and some of them would do it for free, some of them for a small fee to look up different records that you can find. And the key thing is really sitting around and talking with your family to learn more about your roots and where you came from. And often times, the best part of making a family tree is hearing the different stories of your ancestors in where you fit into that scope or where you fit into the next generations and the next generations to come. And it’s also a nice thing to have for when you have kids or if you have kids that you can sort of show them where they came from. This has been Beatrix giving you some suggestions on how you make a family tree.
