Living with Oxygen Treatment for Pulmonary Fibrosis When I started on oxygen therapy the first place I had to go is work. I was still working, and most of the adults knew what it was and when they didn’t, they would ask. I had no problem with that. But I was around maybe 50 to 60 children a day and they would ask, you know children. They just go right up to you, “What’s the thing on your face, Nancy?”\ And I would tell them that it was to help me breathe, and the real little ones, it was fun. I would tell them it’s my jetpack. So that was fun. They look at you with the eyes. But it’s hard, but it’s not really because I know I wouldn’t be able to be there without it or go to the grocery story. Where I live is a retirement community, so I’m not the only one in the store with a cannula on.
