Dr. Travis Stork: Kathy was left horribly scarred and disfigured by two breast cancer surgeries and two unsuccessful reconstructions. But now a new procedure called lipostructure is offering her hope. I want to warn you that the images you are about to see are quite graphic. Dr. Sydney Coleman: Today, we're going to be taking fat out of her thighs and maybe her hips. Purple is for removal. Okay, so I'll mark all of her body where I'm going to remove the fat from, where I'm going to place it and how I'm going to place it to change her shape. Green means I'm changing the contour, that's pretty much it. We make incisions. I'm going through the incisions. I am going to the purple areas where I marked up for removal and I am staying very, very deep here. In order to fat graft, you need to first harvest the fat. The fat, when it comes out is only about 50% fat. I spin it in a little machine in order to separate out pure fat. This is the valuable fat that we're harvesting right now. I'm going to start by filling in this right here which is the most superficial area. Then I'm placing the harvested and refined fat into the side of the lumpectomy in order to do several things. One, to provide coverage for the implant, but the most important thing is to relive the scar contracture by placing fat into the occlusions. Breast now, look really good. This was a big success.
