Dr. Ann Kulze: Lentils yes this little babies are truly a superstar food and like there beans and lagoon cousins they are cheap, they are convenient, they are versatile, they are filled with you know protein and fiber which makes them fantastic for weight loss because protein and fiber are great for appetite suppression, they are loaded with vitamins, loaded with antioxidants but there are few features of lentils. That really makes them a cut above there being a counter parts. First of all they provide more folate than any other food so that’s the great little bit of a nutritional trivia and so you can impress people like guess what I know what or next time someone serving lentils like no know about lentils. Lentils provide more folate in any other food, now what are the other specialty of lentils they cook quick you know dried beans are great and I do them but you I don’t like that they take me and hour and half to cook. You can cook lentils on the top of the stove 15 minutes and they don’t require any soaking which is great no overnight soaking. And lastly maybe the most importantly, they tend to cost at least amount of gas so I hope you will take advantage of lentils and include them regularly in your life because they really are superstar food of health.
