But is this diet just another load of Hollywood hog wash or is a serious science. Sears suggest dividing your plate into zones to get your body into the correct hormonal zone for losing weight. 30% of your plate will be loaded with a lean piece of protein the size and thickness of your palm. The rest of your plate will be loaded with fruit and veggies including carbohydrates. Add to this a dash of good fat such as mono-saturated heart healthy olive oil or avocado. This ratio of protein to carbohydrates produces anti- inflammatory chemicals in your body that benefit the circulatory system and balance your insulin levels making it easer for your body to burn fat. The majority of diets reduce fats intake which increases insulin and cause the body to store fat. Sears calls this the fat paradox. He believes you have to eat fat to lose fat. His favorite kinds of fats are Omega 3. Studies prove the zone diet is very effective at helping people lose weight. It’s even being recommended for people with diabetes type II. Regular yogic meditation has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of epileptic fix and sufferers.
