Learn about Weight Loss Pills, Wheelchairs and Wisdom Teeth Host: As obesity statistics balloon out of control, the world is looking for a quick fix to a big problem. In the war on weight it is obvious that food intake and exercise are key but would you go so far as to pop a pill in order to burn the blubber. It is easier and cheaper than a gym membership but are you doing yourself some long term damage? Some diet pills are actually very strong drugs and can be habit forming and others such as downright dangerous. The American FDA recently banned diet pills containing guar gum, a natural substance that swells in the stomach to create the feeling that you have just eaten, unfortunately guar gum caused unexpected blockages in the stomach and throat. Guar gum was being used in about nine products over the counter. Male: My concern is the main state of weight reduction is done through diet and exercise wherever possible and the drugs can only ever pay a minor part of that. Host: The FDA has also recently banned all diet pills containing phenylpropanolamine, PPA for its potential to increase the risk of stroke in young women. Fresh fruit and veggies and an exercise class or two are looking like the safest option in the weight gain. If you want to count some calories and really see a difference in your overall body shape, you will need three exercise classes per week. Talk to your doctor about the safest options. You got your new set of wheels and you are ready to hit the town. A wheelchair can provide a disabled person with independent mobility. These days they are practical and stream line and can go almost anywhere legs can. Public transport poses no problem for the wheelchair driver. Ramps and hydraulic lowered buses can let you on and there is usually ample space to park your wheels as most bus chairs flip up these days to create room. If it is the arena you are keen on wheeling around, a variety of stream line models are available for the sporty at heart. The quickie and the swoosh will have you maneuvering about on the court shooting goals in style. They have adjustable seat positions for everyday and on-court use and offer swifter movement with less resistance and more stability, score! Not sure which one to go for, why don’t you start out by trying before you buy. Wheelchairs rentals are inexpensive and give you the option of making the right choice. This is your major mode of transport. You want to be comfortable and happy. With the right wheelchair the sky is the limit. You can play hockey, basketball, compete in races and just generally go about being you. Check with your doctor about health rebates on wheelchair purchases. You might get a deal on your wheels. Just when you thought all your growing pains were over, along come your wisdom teeth. Third molars can appear anytime between the ages of 17 and 25. They may appear with the minimum at first coming in at just the right angle or they may have to squash through and barge some other teeth out of the way or even come in sideways. This is generally painful and the remedy is to have them removed. It is best not to delay the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth. If they haven’t quite broken through the gum properly, food and bacteria can become trapped and cause infection which if left untreated can become quite severe. You are up for some bleeding and swelling post op but it is a small price to pay; so put on a brave face, open up and say ah. Teenagers suffering from eating disorders often cannot go without their diet pills. These will more than likely make their condition worse.
