Can you really get vitamins from a soda? Enriching food products is nothing new. Cereals, orange juice, breads, they’ve all been fortified for years. But now, vitamins are showing up in some pretty unlikely places like carbonated soft drinks. But are they really good for you? The amounts of minerals added are tiny. You would have to drink about 5 to 12 ounce bottles of these supped sodas to meet your daily requirements of vitamins. And what about these thirst quenchers like enhanced waters? These drinks have their nutritional goods but they also tend to be packed with sugar. You’re better off meeting your dietary need the old fashioned way, with a well balanced diet. And that’s your daily ounce.
