Female Speaker: During mitosis two new identical daughter cells are formed. The body uses mitosis when new cells are needed at the start of mitosis. The chromosomes condense and become distinct. Each chromosome makes a copy of itself and so appears as duplets. The duplets line up and then split. Now the single chromosomes called chromatist moves towards the two sides of the cell the cell is split to give two new cells. Each cell contains the same number of chromosomes.
