Why is getting a therapeutic massage so important? Our body is a machine and does what we tell it to do. Since our bodies get used to what we do, wouldn't it be nice to have our bodies getting used to feeling good. In the community I was from, massage is not looked at as a frail. It is looked at as a preventive maintenance process that is part of any health regime one wants to begin. If you were to see a cross section of the Santa Fe people of all ages who take advantage of therapeutic massage which by the way is much of the populous. You would see a trim, healthy, happy, beautiful people. They hold getting a massage as important as gas for their car or light to see with. They understand what massage truly provides and that is a better quality of life, with the added benefit of preventing physical problems from happening before they start. In this case, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Did you know that 75% of all illness is caused by stress? I suspect that, that number is much higher. Did you know that getting a massage is equivalent to having a light workout? Some other benefits are to remove toxins and metabolic waste, reduce pain and inflammation, patient's healing, balances the pH of our bodies, increases range or motion of our joints, improves circulation. It's a vehicle that provides oxygen and nutrition to the cells, provides vascular help, reduces stress, reduces anxiety. Also encourages the natural release of painkillers, enhances the immune system, reduces mental fatigue, provides deep relaxation, assists with fluid removal, relieves muscle spasm pain, properly adjusts a fight or flight syndrome, assists lymphatic flow and that is just a small sample of what relaxing the body is capable of. Your body knows how to use this information. That it gets from a massage. Massage has a wonderful Yin and Yang balancing effect on the body. The body already has the intelligence, give it an opportunity to work properly. Today, I have yet to find any other method that positively directly focuses relaxation providing space and flexibility as quickly or effectively on the body as therapeutic massage. The least thing you could do is to give your body the benefits of a therapeutic massage. Give the body space and it will heal itself. Thank you!
