From conception to birth, the human body undergoes the earliest and fastest stages of growth within the womb. At fertilization, when the sperm fuses with the ova or egg, a growth process begins which is unequal during any other time in life. From an 8 cell mass, measuring 1/100th of an inch at three days to a six day old blastocyst, measuring 3/100th of an inch and consisting of 100 cells to an 8 day old trophoblast, 4/100th of an inch penetrating the uterine wall to an embryo at 28 days and measuring one-tenth of an inch. At six weeks, the embryo measures one-half inch and possesses all of the organs and features recognized as the human body. Over the next ten weeks and after four months of growth, the fetus grows to approximately seven inches in length. At nine moths, an infant measuring approximately 20 inches is born concluding one of the most amazing processes of nature.
