Cheryl Forberg: I’m Cheryl Forberg, author of Positively Ageless. One of the demonstrations I like to share with people involves apples and a lemon to show the importance of an antioxidant rich diet. I start with an apple, the medium size apple, cut it in half and then I cut each half into slices. Now, what I am going to do is cover one half of the apple slices with vitamin C rich lemon juice and then I’ll just toast the apple slices to be sure they’re well covered. This bowl of apple slices will be left just this they are without lemon juice and I’m going to set this aside for four days. After four days, here are my apple slices. As you can see the slices that have been soak in antioxidant rich vitamin C rich lemon juice are still fresh and white and firm. The other apple slices they’ve oxidize, they’ve turn brown continually bathing the cells in your body within antioxidant rich diet preserves the integrity of them and there health. But this is what you might to expect from a diet that’s rich in fast foods, process foods sugar and is basically the void of nutrients. Focusing on a diet that’s rich in antioxidants and all the nutrients that we’ve talk about can absolutely help you slow the aging process with the simple food choices that you make everyday.
