Hi! I'm Doctor Ross Carter. I'm a Board Certified Chiropractor in the State of Georgia and I've been practicing here since 1996. Hi! Today we're going to talk about what's called sublimation, also known as a pinched nerve. Basically, it's what's chiropractor specialize in. So what I'm going to use is a little model here to explain exactly what it is we treat and how we might be able to help you with some of the problems with nerve pressure. This is a model of the lower back and you can see, we've got two vertebrae here, the disk there and actual nerve comes out of the hole in the back part of the spine. Now it's pretty important to understand because what happens is this. See the disk is designed for shock absorption and allows this vertebra to shift around and move and that's normal. Here's what happen though. What can happen is through repetitive motions or stress or trauma or weakness, these vertebrae can shift out of their proper position. So what happens is this. We've got normal nerve working without any problems as you can see with the little light. So what happens is this thing can shift out of alignment here and what it does is it can cause some pressure on those nerves and when it does that it cause nerves be irritated and sensitive and not worked properly as you can see with the little red light. Basically, that's a simple term what a pinch or irritated nerve looks like. The way we handle or help with this problem is we do a procedure called an adjustment and adjustment is a way to gently shift the bones that are out of place back into their proper alignment. That allows those nerves to work like they normally should, relieving the pain. So if you or someone you know is having headaches, neck pain, back pain, numbness or tingling down in the arms or the legs, fibromyalgia or any other health problem and you would like to get a checkup, please call on number below here and setup an appointment with me in my office and then we'll see what we can do to find out what could be the causing the problem and give you some natural solutions to help solve it.
