Melanie Raposo: Hi! Everybody, I'm Melanie Raposo and welcome to the pregnancy show. On today's panel discussion the moms talk about choosing the primary care provider midwifes versus doctors and they talk about what their experiences where like with both. They are said midwifes versus doctor kind a debate, why did you choosing their midwife? Female Speaker: They do nothing to you without your concern, while there is an obstetrician you basically don't even know half the time and then not knocking obstetrician and they have fettles and I have a wonderful obstetrician who they'll be divine, I'll tell you he is a surgeon that's what he got interest in -- was to be a surgeon and delivering babies is become kind of something that's put on them and midwifes it's normal. Midwifes are train to deliver babies and took help women how normal pregnancies. So if you have a normal pregnancy, so if you have normal pregnancies and normal deliver there the people to have and I also have the homebirth. Yeah, exactly and if not the doctors are there and they are trying to help you in those circumstances. Female Speaker 1: Because I wanted to have a water birth and I wanted to have water birth in the hospital with midwife, because most midwifes have hospital privileges and a lot of people think oh, you go with midwife you have to be hippy, and do it at home, but no you can have a midwife and go to hospital. Lot of them have hospital privileges, so that you there just in case or whatever, but I think that internal I couldn't have a water birth in hospital I had do that at home, so that's why -- homebirth, but I love the midwife because we get two. One midwife that cares about the mother and the mother alone, and one midwife that cares about the baby and the baby alone, so two of them come and they have completely separate jobs. So you have always got someone there telling you what's going on with you, whereas most women that I have talked to that just have to be obstetrician. The obstetrician cares with the baby that's the main concern and make sure that baby is healthy and there is no one there for you. Female Speaker: Yeah. Female Speaker 2: And the after care with the midwifes. Female Speaker: Oh the after care with midwife is amazing. Female Speaker 2: I had nothing with Andrew and I -- getting the breast infection nursing and I had no clue what was wrong and that point I had no support or really nobody to ask, so definitely with the midwifes, I mean they came to my house and they checked upon us and I didn't have to go anywhere, what they actually ordered to me to sit in a chair for a day, that's great.
