You are watching watchmojo.com. I am your host Trey Moore. You know, I have been known to say that it might be a man’s world but women rule the bedroom. However, in the most recent book, Female Chauvinist Pigs, Ariel Levy makes the case for how that just might not be a good thing after all. She documents the rise of what she calls ranch culture. Basically, women using their bodies and their sexualities as of tool of empowerment, however, the way she sees it is that they are just kidding themselves. What it comes down to it that as long as they are doing that, their sexuality might be taken seriously, but that is all about them that will be taken seriously. Simply put, it is a lot easier for a woman to get laid than it is for a man. A man is the one who as to run the chase and pursue the object of his desires. Unfortunately, more often than not, women do not have to try as hard, if she is the fact about human nature. The men want it more to case the supply and demand and there is much more of a demand than there is of a supply. However, what does that mean for women who are trying to find equality vis-à-vis man and be on part with that. Well, it means that there is simply no easy way out, if women actually want to get to a place in society where they are going to be considered the equals of men then they are going to have to do it in a way that men do it. Now, of course you might argue that a woman is not a man, and no, she is not, she is very different, both biologically and psychologically not to mention culturally. Nature and nurture has caused a lot of tension between the two of them as we have different natures and different nurture experiences. That is translate into sexual politics or think of it this way, what if the playing field is just like a hunting ground, well, in that case, there is no equality for women, they just make themselves a very attractive piece of prey. Thus far, men have been behaving like the predators, they have been chasing down the objects of their desire, and if women actually want to reach a point in society and on the level of sexual politics where they feel and are represented as man’s equal, then they are going to have that around and become the hunter rather than the hunted.
