Female Speaker: Partial reinforcement or reward for a behavioral action in a learning situation is one of the most effective methods of learning the reinforcement is usually presented in a fixed schedule or in an orderly way playing a slot machine is used here as a simple example of how the player himself forms a reinforcement schedule and uses it to keep gambling. To win he needs three of the same colored lights to come up together any other combination does not produce a win. His own schedule is set by his aspirations to win on every other play, the machine however is set to its own winning pattern and will pay out only intermittently out of six plays he wins only twice and of these wins only one coincides with his schedule the lack of correct forecasting does not deter the player but serves to strengthen his behavior for eventually he adapts his schedule to try to coincide with that of the machines. Psychologist specializing in learning theory has shown that irregular reward for behavior helps the learner to remember five better than continuous reward.
