Deborah Wilburn: How many times have you come home and flopped your handbag down on the kitchen table or counter? When you do that, you've just transferred thousands of germs that your handbag picked up wherever you happened to place it, the floor of a restaurant, the gym, even a public restroom. In fact, a germ expert at the University of Arizona recently swapped the bottoms of women's handbags. He found ten thousand bacteria per square inch, including fecal-bacteria. Yuck!
