Lianne Phillipson-Webb: So the importance of iron during pregnancy, obviously it's talked about a lot. During pregnancy potentially becoming anemic, you need to look for those signs of feeling very lethargic, really not having much energy and also say, when you're climbing some stairs, you get out of breath. You'll will be screened throughout your pregnancy to check your iron status. Very commonly Materna is recommended by doctors, OB's and even mid wives. The absorbability of a product like that may not be as good as something like this, and also a lot of months become constipated. The pregnant woman becomes constipated, when they take iron, so it puts them off taking their pre or their postnatal because they don't feel great when they are taking it. So this is a product called Super Matragen, which the list on here of the ingredients is amazing and just to show how much your body needs of this particular product, you need to take four capsules a day, two at breakfast and two at lunch is ideal. So it's really giving your body a lot of nutrition, a lot of nutrients which you may be not having, not getting from your diet because you're busy, you're still at work, you're not feeling so great, you've got specific food aversions, so this is a very good pre and postnatal, I recommend this for during pregnancy all the way up until you finish breastfeeding and even beyond ready for a potentially another baby. So two fantastic ways of getting some iron into you. This is one of my favorites. This is called Spatone. This is actually an iron water. So very, very low levels but exceptionally absorbable. There are some amazing clinical trials that support this. So all you need to do when you're ready to take this is snip off the top and then you can either just drink it like this or you can add it into some juice and if you drink it just like this, it just tastes a little bit fruity, So during pregnancy, there are specific amounts, I believe to take two of these a day. Female Speaker: Okay! That's easy enough like you just put it in your juice. Lianne Phillipson-Webb: Very, very easy. Just put it in your juice in the morning and especially with putting it in with something like orange juice or any juice that has Vitamin C that increases the absorption. Female Speaker: Oh! Okay. Lianne Phillipson-Webb: Another really easy way to take iron is in a homeopathic tissue salt. So this is iron which is prepared in a homeopathic way. It's very, very absorbable and you can also add this in say, a different liquid iron, Floradix is a popular one and those two together, I've seen iron levels increase dramatically.
