Learn About Facial Plastic Surgery for Men On behalf on tvlesson.com, I'm Dr. Jeffrey Epstein. I'm a board certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes in surgical hair restoration. Let’s talk a little bit about men and facial plastic surgery. Often a hush-hush topic because most men don’t like to admit that they have some cosmetic concerns about the way they look. But as a facial plastic surgeon of course, I am offered the opportunity everyday to talk with and meet with men who do have concerns. Sometimes this man come to me and say, “I don’t like the way I look I feel like I look too old, what would you recommend?” Other times and less commonly than women, men come to me and say, “These are the things I think I have such as I feel my chin is too under projected. I don’t like my turkey gobbler. I'm concerned about my hanging eyebrows and my lot of wrinkles or I'm concerned about the fat bags under my eyes.” These are all aesthetic concerns which are commonly dealt with in a practice such as mine on a daily basis. For example with lower lids, the removal of the excess fat, I did one of those procedures yesterday. It’s called blepharoplasty, lower lid blepharoplasty, the newer techniques. The incision is made in the inside of the eyelid, so there's no internal incision. We are able to remove the fat. With the turkey gobbler, there's a couple of options. One is the neck lift where we make the incision behind the ears the other one is actually a direct neck lift, the procedure I call the direct midline neck lift, a procedure that I have developed that I do typically two or three every month. Where I do liposuction combined with the excising of the skin. One last area we can talk about is management of the heavy brows, very common problem with men in their 50s and older. The eyebrows start to settle, the result is they get a heavy sort of sad or sometimes angry look. We are able to elevate up the eyebrows through a combination of approaches. One way is the endoscopic incision. Another way is the midline forehead incision. All these areas are dealt with properly in various areas of facial plastic surgery. On behalf on tvlesson.com, I'm Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, thanks for watching.
