Dreaming occurs for 10 to 20-minute periods three to four times every night. Often dreams distort time and space and their emotional aspects may relate to the everyday events associated with the dreamer’s personal life. For example a man who is caught in traffic one day feels guilty about being late for work and becomes angry when his employer reprimands him. That evening while driving home he has an accident. That light in a dream, the events of the day become distorted and their order of occurrence, form and time are changed. The man’s feeling of resentment towards his employer is expressed by running over him.
