Pamela Mazza: One of the most common myths is that you can have borderline diabetes and in reality there is no borderline diabetes, you either have it or you don't. Another myth is sugar free foods. A lot of people look at buying sugar free foods after they are diagnosed, in the reality is not so much sugar that we want to look at as it is carbohydrates because carbohydrates turn to sugar in the body. Another one is that I think people feel like sometimes they have to give up everything they like or they like to eat or like to do, well that's really a myth. In reality its just important to control portion size, there are few foods that you cant have as long as you control portion size and eat those in moderation.
