A chronic condition by definition is anything that remains in the body 72 hours or more. A chronic condition can last days, weeks, months, or even years until you do something about it. A chronic condition is nothing more than you training or retraining your body to do something that you may think is negative. Your body does not approach things with a negative or positive thought process. Your body is a machine and only a machine, and is made to do whatever you tell it to do. It will follow your instructions completely to a point. Your body will not do anything that is life threatening. It has a built in self-preservation mechanism that will step in and prevent that from happening. Your body on the other hand does not consider pain or physical limitation life threatening. Anything that is not life threatening is considered training or retraining. So like in the video that talked about body memory, there is no difference according to your body between learning how to play an instrument, as an example, and recreating pain or physical limitation in your body. Your body thinks they are the same thing. The commonality between learning how to play an instrument or recreating pain or physical limitation in your body is training, also known as a retraining. And like in the example of learning how to play an instrument in the memory video, the longer something is produced in repetition, the larger and deeper the grooves or connections in your brain become. Muscle is a tissue that can also be trained and retrained. So the only difference between having a pain or physical limitation for three days or 100 years is essentially the same. The only difference is the amount of memory you have to erase or retrain. The more memory you have to erase, the longer it will take to correct the pain or physical limitation. Don't let that upset you, because our bodies are made to change, and they will change rather quickly. One of the examples I gave in the grip method videos was of a client that came to me on a walker, who could not walk without pain or restriction. This was not due to an impact injury. So this problem took years to set up or to be trained into his body. And after using the techniques provided in the grip method videos, he was able to retrain the problem completely out of his body in 60 days. This is not an unusual scenario, it all depends upon your approach and attitude. A chronic condition is due to a contraction. And how do we counter a contraction is by doing the opposite, and that is by creating space and flexibility. How do we create space and flexibility? Get a therapeutic massage. Do stretching, yoga. or any activity that trains the body to replace the contraction memory with space and flexibility memory. I recommend a combination. This new retraining must be done in repetition and grow large enough as to replace the old memory. So what did we learn? One, a chronic condition by definition is anything from 72 hours and beyond. Two, a chronic condition can last days, weeks, months, or years. Three, your body will recreate anything that you do in repetition that is not life threatening. Four, your body does not consider a physical pain or a physical limitation life threatening. Five, a chronic condition is nothing more than your body retrain in a manner that you think is unsatisfactory, but your body does not think in those terms. Six, a chronic condition is considered training, therefore it can be retrained to not be there. Seven, the opposite of contraction is space and flexibility. Eight, retraining must be done in repetition long enough to grow and replace the older memory. Nine, retraining can happen rather quickly. And a final note, the sooner you deal with something, the sooner it will go away. Thank you.
