Male Speaker: Chromosomes contain the genetic material Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, in association with proteins, the twisted strands of DNA, become coiled and folded, to give chromosomes, it beat it appearance. Each beat represents a gene, a length of DNA coding for the synthesis of one or more protein. They are thought to be more than 500 genes on each of a cells 46 chromosome, here a progression is shown from a chromosome as it appears under a microscope to monocular architecture of DNA. Shown diagrammatically to illustrate the double helix the chromosome content of every cell in the body, consist of 46 individual chromosomes, except for the sperm and ovum. Which have only 23 partly magnified this chromosome said shows the x in red and the y in blue sex chromosomes. A combination of x and y denotes male characteristics, while in xx pair results in the birth of the girl. Since sperm contain either X or the Y chromosome and the ova only the x, sex is governed by this sperm.
