Millions are saying goodbye to that morning dairy and lunch time pizza. It’s time to get that LDL or bad cholesterol out of your system. How about substituting all of that rich creamy butter with a cholesterol reducing spread? It looks the same, it tastes the same but it has a completely different impact on your body. Here’s a great way to get a low impact workout and nature fix at the same time. Canoeing improves your cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. The workout it can be as intense or— as you’d like it. Just choose your location, a calm urban stream or some wild river rapids for an extra workout. The twisting rowing action needed for canoeing is great for arm, shoulder, chest and upper torso strength but your legs get an intense workout too because the power to propel the vessel forward comes from applying pressure to your legs. You may end up in the river at some stage so it’s wise to be a competent swimmer just incase. It’s not only overweight people who get high cholesterol. Slender people should give a watch too.
