On behalf of tvlesson.com I am Dr. Justine Newman doctors of organ in medicine with thebanyanholistic.com. Let’s talk about the role assimilation place in holistic nutrition. After about 8 o’clock at night most of us have already had our breakfast, lunch and dinner and we’re getting ready to rather than digest our foods, assimilate the nutrients that we’ve taken in during the day. What’s happen is during assimilation is as the body’s resting at night all of the nutrients that you’ve taken in throughout the day are being sent to the different part of the body that need them. Whatever you don’t need of course is discarded in the elimination phase on the very next day. It’s essential that we don’t eat late, if we eat too late at night were not going to digest well because out body wants to be resting instead of digesting but we also won’t assimilate well. Because while our body should be assimilating it’s busy to trying to break down foods and digest and this backs up the works a little bit. You want to encourage a beneficial spiraling in the digestive system. You want to eliminate properly, get the right foods in your system but assimilate what you can and you don’t want o interrupt that phase, it’s important at night to not eat late so you can maximize assimilation of the nutrients. If you do have some craving at nights to eat late, fruit is the best choice because it’s in the stomach within 30 minutes so minimally affects assimilation. Also at night while we resting and assimilating nutrients we’re assimilating all the physical, emotional, mental and social pressures that are coming as well so holistic nutrition involves what kinds of role that we play and how does our nutrition support our physical, emotional, mental and social habit in our environment we are not only assimilating the nutrients at night but what assimilating all of the experience that we put ourselves through throughout the day. So it’s important to rest you can assimilate well and have peace of mind and body. On behalf of tvlesson.com this is Dr. Justine Newman and thank you for watching.
