Diabetes and Neuropathy Amputations Dr. Jeffery Glaser: Amputations are unfortunately are common 50% of diabetic patients through out their life with them all some type of ulceration which can lead to amputation so unfortunately it's a common condition were attempting to prevent these types of complications. Question: Are amputations on the increase? Amputations are unfortunately its about 10% increase they project over the next 10 years of amputations unfortunately that's I assume from the increase percentage of increased amount of diabetics that are been diagnosed yearly but unfortunately it is a common condition.
