P. Mona Khanna: Adolescence generally refers to the transitional time of development when a child moves into adulthood. Adolescence involves psychological, social and biological changes. The biological changes usually occur in girls between the ages of 10 and 14. For boys it usually happens between the ages of 12 and 16. Some puberty related changes include growing taller, gaining weight, and growing underarm and pubic hair. Grows also begin menstruating at this time.
